Data Wizard
Data Wizard is a parser based programming language, interpreter and compiler designed at Pendulum Software specifically for the creation of text conversion applications. The general audience targeted by this product is the text management community, programmers and project managers faced with the tasks of creating conversion filters, report generation, data extraction and so on.

Two minimum pre-requisites to learning Data Wizard are a beginner's knowledge of computer programming concepts and some initiation in the field of text mark-up techniques. An ideal candidate for Data Wizard programming would be an advanced C programmer with extensive text processing experience and a solid background in at least one mark-up language, preferably SGML.

While it is ideally suited for processing structured SGML data, a key aspect in Data Wizard's design concept is its independence from any particular mark-up format or data structuring technique. It is a tool which can be used on almost any kind of data mark-up in a flat ASCII input stream.

Data Wizard has been thouroughly tested during a four year period in a large production environment at Novell® Inc. where its speed and reliability have made it the instrument of choice in the production of Novell's large reference library. The online documentation for Netware 5 and similar documentation since the release of Netware 4.1 was produced using Pendulum Software's conversion tools coded with Data Wizard. End-product examples can be viewed in Novell's product documentation pages.
